Introduction of a new animal

It'is necessary to quarantine:

She has several interests:

  • to prevent the entry of new pathogens in livestock.
  • to allow the animal to adjust gradually to the flora of livestock, gives him the time to defend himself against her
  • to gradually change his diet.
  • to recover slowly from the stress of transportation.
  • to allow to treat the pet preventively against various deseases.
  • to check the animal for some disease (psittacosis, salmonellosis...) and make the coproscopies.

The duration of the quarantine depends on the species and times of incubations of diseases we don't want to see enter his breeding:

  • bare minimum: 7 days
  • recommended if possible: 60 to 90 days
  • snakes: 6 months
